On the second Saturday in July, the streets come alive with the Norway Arts Festival, drawing residents and visitors together in celebration.
Events include dance performances, poetry recitals, children’s activities, an evening concert and street dance, and the Annual Sidewalk Art Show that draws scores of artists from all over New England and has been a vital community celebration for forty years.
Easter Fest and October Fest offer family-themed fun with events hosted by businesses along the length of Main Street. Maine’s largest Christmas Parade marches through Norway at the end of November, and January’s cold brings Snow Fest to Lake Pennesseewassee, with snowmobile races, an antique snowmobile show, a chowder cookoff, and more. Baked bean suppers, library book sales, and other intimate community events punctuate the year, reminders of Norway’s small town charm.
